Diane von Fabulous!

Wall Street Journal in her design

Meet Diane von Furstenberg. She has been designing gorgeous clothes for women for over 40 years now. If anyone knows the most about the fashion industry, I would have to say it would be her. Most known for her waist accentuation wrap dresses, Diane has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award, holds the position of president of the CFDA, and even wrote an autobiography.

As you can see in the picture above, she can get women to line up around the block at her New York location. She knows how to make a dress fit a woman's body, and the wrap dress is a staple for every stylish woman because of it. It became popular in the early 70s and then again in 1996. It hasn't left since then and I don't think it ever will. It flatters most every body type, can be worn to the workplace, and can be found in any type of pattern. She used bright and crazy colors and made them out of various knits, therefore it was SO comfy! This is why she sold over 5 million in the first 4 years of its existence.

Part of the S/S 2011 Collection. LOVE IT!

DVF has an eye for what women want and has continued to bring timeless masterpieces to the runway. She can create a mean dress, but that isn't all that she can do. I always love her color choices and apparently so does everyone else. A-list celebrities attend her runway shows and also wear her pieces out and about. Nicole Richie, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Courtney Cox were all spotted in maxi dresses and leg-baring numbers. Whitney Port even worked for her for a short period of time while she was on the hit MTV show, "The City."

If I ever met her, I would kiss her feet because of her slimming fits and down-to-earth collections. Her clothes are very wearable and "street-chic" but still classy and luxurious.

Nautical by Nature

Nautical

The Nautical look is always one of my go-to summer looks. On last weeks episode of The Fashion Police, they included this ongoing trend on their "Gotta Have It! Make It Stop!" segment. The four experts were all unanimous on their love for anchors and stripes. Be sure to try out this chic look, but make sure not to overdo it.

CMT Music Awards

Last night was the 2011 CMT Music Awards in none other than Nashville, TN. Not only was I excited that Justin Bieber was within 50 miles of my house, but I was also ready to see what these country stars pulled out of their closets to wear.

The host for the evening, Kid Rock, had many outfit changes throughout the show. This one made me tilt my head because he usually wears a fedora and some beat up jeans (which he did for the rest of the evening.)

There were some great selections for the night...

Sara Evans

Sarah Darling

"Group Video of the Year" winners Lady Antebellum

Shania Twain took a hard fall on the way up to present. She quickly recovered and still managed to look fabulous

...but there were also some that weren't my favorite.

Christy Bowersox definintely could have fit this a tad better to her body.

Sheryl Crow looked great in this number, but it is definitely too short. It is age inappropriate and she even admitted to giving the audience a peep show of her panties (by accident of course.)

I'm on the fence with Nicole Kidman's threads for the evening. The shoes don't work with this look AT ALL, and the fit of the dress kind of throws me off. It's not the worst of the night, but I have definitely seen her look better.

And finally the Best and Worst Dressed according to.... Moi!

WORST: Gretchen Wilson, to put it lightly, looked a hot mess. I know she is a "true country girl," but I think she could have spiced up her a look a little. Especially since she was performing a new song with Big N Rich.

BEST: David Nail and his wife Catherine Werne look SO CUTE! Their mixture of her glamorous dress and his casual suit make for a perfect combo. It doesn't look like they tried too hard and they knew this was a more casual affair. PROPS TO YOU GUYS!

I really enjoyed the show and congrats to all the winners!
This years, "Video of the Year," recipient Taylor Swift was not able to recieve her award, but she looks so dainty and down-to-earth in her music video for, "Mine." I just love her sundresses!

Beautiful Sole

In 1991, not only was I born, but so was the famous red sole. Christian Louboutin, a French footwear designer, has managed to test the abilities of women's stabilities by having heels that are 4.5 inches and higher. His goal is to, "make a woman look sexy, beautiful, and to make her legs look as long as [he] can." Mission: Accomplished.
Louboutin (pronounced lou-bou-TAHN), has produced mouth-watering pumps that sparkle and shine, but I will die if I never own the classic black pumps.

These bad boys can put a LARGE dent in your bank account, but I think it is soooo worth it.
If a shoe can make me feel like Carrie Bradshaw, I am all for it.
But where did Christian get the idea to have his niche be a red sole?
The answer is.....a manicure!
One of his employees had her nails painted black except for the bottom tip of her nail.
It gave off flashes of red, which inspired him to give his shoes this effect as well.
So, if you can't afford these shnazzy stillettos, take a trip to your nearest spa and ask for the "Louboutin Manicure."
Hollywood's finest surely can afford them, so they strut there stuff in CL's constantly.

These shoes can make any girl stand out in a crowd and for that, we thank you Mr. Louboutin.
