One for One
In 2006, a man named Blake Mycoskie was visiting Argentina when he befriended many of the children living there. He saw the struggles they had to go through everyday including not owning any shoes. This was when he came up with the concept of TOMS shoes. For every pair of TOMS that you purchase, his company will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. Later that same year, Blake and a group of his friends, family, and new staff members returned to Argentina where they handed out 10,000 pairs of shoes. It has only grown since then.
Many of these children have never owned a pair of shoes which could lead to soil-transmitted diseases, infected wounds, and not being able to attend school. This can all be prevented because of this great cause! I just purchased my very first pair and I am so happy I did because I learned all about the company and what they do. I thought I would share it with everyone because every little contribution counts. And you can get some cute shoes out of it :)
There are so many colors, prints, and styles to choose from. They have even started an eyeglasses line. If you would like to learn more about TOMS you can visit their website here.

Save or Splurge?
Just like SJP stated, sometimes you have to spend a little more $$$ to lift your spirits. So what should you splurge on you ask? I've got the answers here!
Many of the staple items in your wardrobe, such as a blazer, the little black dress, and your nice jeans, should be your most expensive items. These classic pieces should be fitted and/or tailored to fit your body and you aren't going to find that on the sale racks. You want them to last longer, therefore it will be well worth it in the long run. Clothes are often more comfortable when you spend more money on them, so why not buy a cashmere sweater instead of the cheaper cotton cardigan. If you need a neutral item, you should most likely spend more on it so you do not have to replace it as much.
A Kate Spade bag would be a great purchase. Classic designs that will go with everything and last forever.
When you are wanting to get a new, fun outfit for the party this weekend, this is when you can go for a cheaper route. This includes printed sundresses, bold accessories, and the sparkly mini skirt that you have had your eye on. Since you aren't going to wear these items as often, why would you spend your hard earned cash on them?
These fun Mossimo wedges from Target are only $29.99!
When you are trying on the latest designer dress, stop and think for a minute. I always ask myself, "Am I going to die if I do not have this?" If I answer no, I take a last look and usually forget about it in the next hour. If you are smart about your spending, buyer's remorse won't even be in your vocabulary.

Trend To Try: NEON!
Since we have all been cooped up in knitted scarves and peacoats, I know we all can't wait to whip out our favorite floral sundress. Only this season, floral has been moved to the back burner. Neon hit the ground running and I can't wait to see everyone's interpretation of this trend.
Lately, I have been all about pastels, but it is definitely time to turn up the color volume! It has hit the runways, and is even starting to trickle out into the streets. There is a definite 80s vibe going on and there is a possibility of tragic outfits in the future, but if done correctly, this trend is tre chic!
Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone to turn a few heads. Wear your neon with confidence and I promise people will be envious that they didn't wear it first.
